The newly painted "Tacoma Starlifter" glistens in the December sun with  white caped Mt. Rainer in the background.

After more than a month of prepping and painting the Museums C-141B the "Tacoma Starlifter"  rolled out of the McChord Corrosion Control Facility on December 12. In late 1999, the "Tacoma Starlifter" was re-painted in standard Air Mobility Command markings during testing of the Bases new paint facility, now sports the "white cap" Military Airlift Command paint scheme worn by C-141's throughout the 70's and 80's. After some finishing touches and additional detailing work the StarLifter along with the Museums C-124 will be moved to a permanent home at McChord's overlook hill during the first months of 2005 (see story below).
