Sgt. Randy Karels marshals in Travis' newest C-17 Globemaster
III Dec. 20, 2006. Nicknamed the "Spirit of the Golden
Gate," the aircraft was piloted by Maj. Gen. Allan Poulin,
Air Force Reserve Command vice commander. Sergeant Karels is one
of the aircraft's crew chiefs and is assigned to the 860th
Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.

Thomas Gisler Jr, 349th Air Mobility Wing commander, speaks to
the crowd during an arrival ceremony for Travis' newest C-17,
nicknamed the "Spirit of the Golden Gate." Maj. Gen.
Allan Poulin, Air Force Reserve Command vice commander,
(left), and Col. Steve Arquiette, 60th Air Mobility Wing, also
provided comments. General Poulin piloted the aircraft and was
accompanied by members of the 301st Airlift Squadron. Gen
Glisler was the Commander of McChord's 446th AW from
2000-2003, Col Arquiette, 60th AMW Commander was the Director
of Staff, and Vice Wing Commander of McChord's 62d AW from
2005-2006.
