After
more than a month of prepping and painting the Museums C-141B the
"Tacoma Starlifter" rolled out of the McChord
Corrosion Control Facility on December 12. In late 1999,
the "Tacoma Starlifter" was re-painted in standard
Air Mobility Command markings during testing of the Bases new
paint facility, now sports the "white cap" Military
Airlift Command paint scheme worn by C-141's throughout the
70's and 80's. After some finishing touches and additional
detailing work the StarLifter along with the Museums C-124
will be moved to a permanent home at McChord's overlook hill
during the first months of 2005 (see story below).
